Deep muscle stimulation is a technique whereby pressure and or percussion is applied to muscles to reach deep into those muscles. This can help stimulate blood flow, improving circulation, increase lymphatic flow, reduce lactic acid accumulation, and aid in proprioceptive stimulation.
Dr. Tucker uses a new type of therapeutic equipment known as the DMS (Deep Muscle Stimulator). The DMS was designed to provide kinetic vibration deep into the tissue. It currently is the only device of its kind.
The DMS concentrates on local or general muscle spasms, increasing muscle metabolism and the lactic acid cycle to aid in pain relief. The DMS uses deep, rapid, short-duration percussion to assist in the in effective management of acute and chronic pain, not exclusive to, but including: migraine headaches, sciatica, TMJ, carpal tunnel syndrome, tendonitis, bursitis, edema, myofacial pain and frozen joints.
The DMS can be used to treat the entire body, and is an excellent tool to be used pre and post rehabilitation and workouts.
